For our division Quality Management & Product Engineering at our location in Köln we are looking for a

Senior Manager - Footwear Technical Quality (m/f/d)

YOUR SHOES TO FlLL:

• Establish clear guidelines for box checks and engage production QA support to ensure production staff are trained to support checks where required.
• Provide support to Product Development teams to identify possible problem areas with introduction of new constructions, new uppers, new materials and/or processes and promote improved standards.
• Provide expert support to all internal departments and production sites in respect of quality issues with a focus on bonding systems, footbed integrity and PU injection systems.
• Work with the quality management team to ensure QA manuals, standards and best practices are updated and communicated in line with business and production requirements.
• Ensure the Quality and Compliance of all new and existing chemical materials both in development and production scenarios in production.
• Follow up any quality notifications from inspection/production with Sourcing and Purchasing teams and create a CAP where appropriate.
• In conjunction with the Quality Management and Sourcing teams ensure our suppliers are audited and establish raw materials testing to ensure compliance to Birkenstock standards.
• Liaise with Product Engineering to approve fit tests and wear tests. 

YOUR WALK OF LIFE:

• Experience in working within a shoe factory environment in a similar position within QC
• Experience of bonding systems used within the footwear industry
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a small team
• Consistent decision making and application of footwear standards
• Good command of English is essential, German is a plus
• Readiness to travel nationally as well as internationally
