Technician (M/W/D) Quality Management


In this position you ensure compliance with the BIRKENSTOCK quality requirements of finished goods and components through direct quality assurance at our material/component suppliers and at contract manufacturer’s production site. 

You coordinate, monitor and verify production with due regard to our quality standards. This implies preparing all necessary information and specification for production, traveling to our suppliers in order to supervise the development of finished goods, uppers, and semi-finished products in line with all relevant technical and quality requirements and executing inline and final good inspection at the production site.

In addition, you assume an advisory function in factory sourcing, allocation and development.

Finally, you assist and closely collaborate with other divisions in further developing workmanship and quality standards of existing styles as well as securing continual improvement of production and products.



Education / vocational training in the footwear industry, in fashion or a related field

Several years of experience in the technical development of all aspects of production, including quality assurance and control; multiannual experience in shoe/upper production or a comparable field

Profound knowledge of shoe-related material, especially leather and fabric, excellent knowledge of construction and products, good knowledge of production feasibility, various aspects of workmanship, and fitting

Ability to work independently and to assert yourself

A highly structured, self-motivated team spirit with a strong ability to build effective working relationships

A flexible and innovative mind with hands-on mentality and the ability to manage improvements

Knowledge of SAP and databases, advanced experience in MS Office

Excellent command of the English language, German and/or other languages are a plus

Readiness for extended travel (70%)
